American Fork Family Clinic

American Fork Family Clinic provides:
-Grandfamilies: Grandfamilies refers to a family where grandparents, great-grandparents, other relatives, or close family friends are raising a child because the biological parents are unable to do so.
The Grandfamilies program is a support, advocacy, education, and crisis intervention program designed to help meet the growing needs of individuals and/or families that are caring for a relative’s children. Strengthening families is a class for adults and children. There are some groups provided for teens in other offices. Call to verify classes, it is held 4 times a year.

American Fork Family Center Groups:
Stress Management: Topics Covered - Stress in the body, Self Care, Meditation, Stress Thinking, Slowing Down, Control.
DBT - Skills Group (coping skills for adults) Skills learned: Mindfulness, Setting Boundaries,emotional regulation, distress tolerance, self awareness, self soothing, calming skills, interpersonal effectiveness, assertiveness (open group) Tues 4-5
Child Parent Relationship Therapy Group: In 10 weeks you will lean how to: Regain control as a parent, help your child develop self-control, effectively discipline and limit inappropriate behavior, Understand your child's emotional need, Communicate more effectively with your child. In 10 weeks you will see a noticeable difference in: your relationship with your child, your child's behavior, your ability to respond effectively, your confidence in your parenting skills
Group held At the WMH American Fork Family Clinic, Tuesdays from 5-7 pm
Groups start periodically thru-out the year and runs for 10 weeks
