Blue Hills Residential Treatment
Blue Hills is a 23-bed facility focusing on substance abuse dependence with males ages 12 to 18 years of age who reside in the state of Utah boundaries. During treatment residents receive weekly individual therapy and family therapy, family coaching with skills development focused on youth and family relationships, group therapy, PRS skills group focused on substance use, mental health and criminogenic needs.
Blue Hills believes in and are dedicated to helping at risk youth and their families disrupt unhealthy living patterns and behaviors. They accomplish this by creating a therapeutic environment that addresses moral reasoning, decision making, faulty thinking, and irrational beliefs throughout the treatment process.
Treatment modalities include: Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), Cognitive Behavioral Intervention- Substance Use Youth (CBI-SUY), Seeking Safety, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Length of stay is concluded when a resident completes 12 levels of Moral Reconation Therapy with a possible completion time of 12 weeks or 90 days. Levels can be "presented" or "lost" weekly, bringing the average length of stay from 3 to 6 months dependent on residents' ability to remain sober, accountability for actions, and shown reductions in risk. At this point residents begin the aftercare program portion of treatment for up to 6 months. They provide biweekly therapy via telehealth and weekly in person visits, a UA, and family coaching sessions with residents, families, and family coach.
