HOME STUDIES:

CSS can complete home studies for prospective adoptive parents in Utah who are hoping to adopt infants domestically (cost is $800 plus additional background check, training, and mileage fees that depend on case by case needs). All home studies need to be renewed after a year and renewal cost is $250. While we have an infant adoption program that helps with placing infants for adoption, it is closed to new adoptive families. However, we still work with our waiting families to be placed and are happy to provide free options counseling for any expectant parent that wants more information on adoption.

CSS is also contracted through the State of Utah to complete Waiting Child Home Studies- the specific type of home study that Utah requires for adopting a child out of foster care. This is usually when we work with Raise the Future. A prospective adoptive parent can complete this home study with CSS to adopt a child that is "legally free" (birth parent rights terminated) but is still in the foster care system throughout the United States. This home study can also allow the adoptive parents to become foster parents if they wish to look into both options. The cost of this home study is $1,500 (plus additional background check, training, and mileage fees that depend on case by case needs). This fee includes three hours of case management which includes sending out the home study to the caseworkers of the children the family is inquiring about, attending placement staffing meetings/interviews, and any other needed communication/support/preparation. CSS can also complete the needed post-placement visits if needed for a cost of $150 per visit or $400 for three visits. The home study renewal cost is $750.

CSS also has trained clinicians that can provide post-adoption/guardianship therapy for caregivers and children/youth. The general fee is $75 per session with sliding fee options. We also have a connections program that helps with adoptees reuniting with birth parents.

SUPPORT GROUPS:

We hold a free monthly Adult Adoptee Support group on the 2^nd Thursday of each month. Use Justine's information for registering.

We also have a free monthly Adoptive Parent Support group on the fourth Wednesday of each month. These are open to families that are working with our agency, although if a family is interested and working with another agency we may schedule a screening intake to ensure the group is meeting their needs.
