At The Family Support Center of Ogden, we help families implement changes so that chaotic homes become safe; belittling gives way to encouragement; toxic fighting becomes respectful discussions and problem solving; and the heartbreaking tears turn into radiant smiles.

Services:

Adoption Respite

This program offers child care services to families who have adopted a child through the State of Utah’s Division of Child and Family Services. Once a child has been adopted through the State, they are no longer eligible for various supportive services. Many children have severe behavioral challenges that make it difficult for the babysitter down the street to provide care. We provide specialty care to allow parents a much needed respite break.

• Provides care for ALL children in the family, not just the adopted children
• In-home and on-site care offered

Youth Development Program

Have a child struggling with emotional regulation or behavioral outbursts? You’re not alone. Studies found 20% of children in Utah struggle with managing their emotions. Resiliency helps teach children how to effectively identify and manage their emotions.

This six-week program helps children manage their emotions and work through triggering behaviors. Our curriculum focuses on self-esteem, awareness, mindfulness, and responsibility. We come with a trauma-informed approach and can provide a safe place for your child to grow in their social and emotional development while learning how to understand hard feelings. This is an in-person class only, dinner is provided.

The Family Support Center of Ogden is also a part of the Family Support Center of Utah association. This means we are one of 11 family support centers in Utah which means we provide clients with 24-hour crisis & respite nursery, a 24-hour information and referral service, and parenting and youth education programs.
