Plae

OUR MISSION: To cultivate children's confidence, connection, and mental health through expressive therapies and play.

We have primarily providers of color at our child and adolescent Integrative mental health space and I would say about 50%+ of our clients identify as adoptees of color. We serve children from five years of age through college age at this particular location. We also have another location where we serve adults.

Our services:

  • Mental Health Therapy: PLAE - pronounced play - is an acronym for play-centered learning, attachment, and expressive therapies, all of which are at the heart of our mission to improve children's mental health. A fact that’s evident from the moment you walk into our state-of-the-art play space, intentionally designed to create an experience where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to explore, grow, and learn.
  • Neurodevelopmental Evaluations and Assessments: This is a comprehensive set of tests designed to assess all aspects of your child's development, including cognition, language, motor, and social skills. This type of evaluation is conducted by a pediatric neuropsychologist.
  • Pediatric Psychiatric Medication Mangement: Medication management is a level of outpatient treatment that involves the initial evaluation of the patient's need for psychotropic medications, the provision of a prescription, and ongoing medical monitoring related to the patient's use of the psychotropic medication by a qualified physician/prescriber.
  • Education Consultation K-12: Together, students, parents and consultant can aid children in overcoming their barriers to success from an education perspective. Build techniques and skills to effectively collaborate with teachers to inspire, motivate and encourage. Explore information and ways parents can work with schools, advocate for their children, and how they can assist in creating a rich diverse literacy environment at home and in school.
  • Individualized Breathe-work, Mediation and Yoga sessions for parents and families: We want families to feel equip with the tools to navigate all that life presents them. Building body awareness, mindfulness and breathing tools can aide in navigating challenging moments, closing out a day, support overstimulated bodies and more!
  • Parenting Support: You are not in this alone! Based on the stage of life, individual goals and your child’s needs, our amazing team is here to support you and your family.
Consider PLAE your village! We are all here and dedicated to supporting families and children.
