The Family Support Center Cedar City

The Family Support Center is dedicated to strengthening families, protecting children, and promoting healthy relationships. Their services include youth mentoring, nursery services, home visitation, post adoption support, and visitation exchange.

Respite: Scheduled respite care at their facility for children who are infant -11 years old. Respite care is available based on space at the time of the request. A parent can schedule from 1-72 hours in a crisis (medical issues, incarceration, death in family, homelessness). Respite is available for three hours a week during business hours, 9am-9pm.

Home Visitation: The Home Visitation Program provides parenting support in your own home. Family Advocates serve as peer mentors and meet regularly with parents to teach parenting skills and attachment and regulation strategies. They follow a 12-month parenting curriculum to help clients achieve personal and individualized goals. In-home respite childcare is also provided as funding allows.

Post Adoption Support: The Family Support Center sponsors support groups for adoptive parents.

The Family Support Center facilitates visitation exchanges for children of all ages in order to provide a safe, controlled environment where a peaceful transition between parents or caregivers can occur. This free service is offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from 4pm-7pm.
