Wasatch Behavioral Health
Wasatch Mental Health offers a program called GIANT Steps for children ages 3 to 5 who have been diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder. Wasatch Mental Health and DCFS have an adopted children’s group that is offered in conjunction with the adoptive parent support group. These groups are held at the Provo Family Clinic location. Wasatch Mental Health can provide individual or group respite care for 4 hours per week for families involved in treatment. Ask the therapist about this resource. GIANT Steps is a day-treatment program for preschool-aged children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder either before or at the time of assessment. Our unit has six classrooms with a capacity of 12 children, serving a total of 72 preschoolers and their families (Medicaid & non-Medicaid). We have partnerships with the Alpine, Nebo, and Provo School Districts to provide Special Education services for our students. This relationship allows us to run our program in a typical school environment.
