Wasatch Mental Health-XCEL
The Xcel Program provides a high quality afterschool program for adolescents with mental health disorders, behavior problems, and delays in social and daily living skills. The curriculum will be based on the specific needs of the group participants and will include such skills as: anger management, stress management, emotional coping, problem solving, social interaction and getting along with others.
The Xcel Program Includes:
- Group Behavior Management
- Social Skills Training and Practice
- Individual and Family Therapy
- School-based Interventions
- Transportation
- Ages 12-18 (12 year olds must be in junior high school and not in elementary school)
- Groups are separated by location. North- Orem to Eagle Mountain attend the Monday and Wednesday group. South- Provo to Santaquin attend on Tuesday and Thursdays.
Each day includes social skills lessons, group behavior management, and Community Development Events (CODE) to help adolescents generalize skills to real life situations.
