YMCA After School Program Mount Ogden Jr. High

In YMCA Teen Afterschool Clubs, we don't just do after-school programs; we create experiences that provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for teenagers to learn, grow, and connect with each other! Here, teens aren't just another student; they're contributors, creators, and a leaders-in-the-making.

Our Teen Afterschool Programs are designed with Junior High Schoolers in mind! We prioritize connecting our teens with community resources, role-models, and encouraging them to reach their highest potential during program hours. Dinner is included each day, and we make it easy for teens to participate in other school extracurricular activities.

We Offer:

Academic Support: Our trained staff members are available to assist teens with homework, projects, and studying. We also work closely with the school and teachers to accommodate academic support needed after school hours. Our goal is to help teens achieve academic success in whatever works best for them!

Life Skills & Leadership Development: Here, teens develop leadership skills and build confidence through leadership workshops, team-building activities, and community service projects. We teach things like financial literacy, teen pregnancy and drug prevention, and college and career readiness.

Healthly Living and Wellness: We keep teens healthy by serving nutritious meals and snacks each day and by staying active. We also support mindfulness and mental health by teaching relaxation techniques, mindfulness practices, and stress management strategies to support well-being. In Afterschool Club, teens have a safe place to be themselves.

Enrichment Activities & Community Service Opportunities: In Afterschool Club, teens can explore their creative side through various art projects and crafts, dive into the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on workshops and experiments, and choose activities to participate in together! In the past teens have tried their hand at photography, worked with local nature centers to build habitats, and participated in local service projects.

We’re incredibly proud of the work that goes on at this site.
