MaryKate is originally from Tennessee and graduated from Union University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. While earning her degree, she worked as a residential mentor for teenage girls in a treatment center. After that, she spent over a year working in after-school programs, then several months in the education system. MaryKate is passionate about advocating for others, particularly in the child welfare field. In her role as Family Connections Coordinator, she conducts family searches in order to build a network of support for youth in care. In her free time, MaryKate enjoys hiking, ultimate frisbee, crocheting, piano, and spending time with friends and family!
